Montolivo and Germany

Italian international midfielder Riccardo Montolivo Germany should rule out hereditary factors that flow from his mother's family when the two countries Euro 2012 semi-final on Thursday (28/6). Montolivo was born in Italy and has an Italian father's nationality. However, his mother came from Germany.

As a result the game against Der Panzer later will be a special match for Montolivo. She admits she still loves the German who had been part of his life, was quite fluent in German and translated the answers for themselves even at the press conference.

"It's obviously a special game. Part of me is German. I spent every summer in Germany, in the area near Hamburg, with his grandfather and nenenkku until he was 15. I'm still in touch with many friends there. But, I feel as an Italian , "he said.

Montolivo also look to add the German flag on his shoes when the game against England in the quarterfinals last. That as a form of respect for his mother who came from Germany. Nevertheless, he promised not to dissolve the feeling against Der Panzer.

Gli Azzurri players said it would only bring the mentality of never giving up German-style if you have to go back again faced with a penalty shootout. Because, when a penalty shootout with the Three Lions, he failed to produce a goal for Italy. "If it happens again, then I'll bring myself to pick it up," he said.
