Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk empty after deciding to step down after De Oranje failed miserably at Euro 2012. Robin van Persie et al. eliminated in the group phase after defeat in three matches in Group B.
To replace Van Marwijk, appoint Van Gaal. Former coach of Ajax Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and is not a new person to fill the position of the Dutch coach.
Van Gaal had to be an architect Orange Lion in the period 2000-2002. But Van Gaal failed to bring the Netherlands to qualify for 2002 World Cup in Korea-Japan and then back on January 31, 2002.
KNVB now 60-year re-appoint this man to coach the Netherlands. KNVB want Van Gaal led the Netherlands to qualify for 2014 World Cup in Brazil. 2014 World Cup qualifier in Brazil became the first challenge Van Gaal. Holland joined in Group D along with Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Estonia, and Andorra.
"We are looking for coaches with a lot of experience, with personal and technical skills. Van Gaal has a proven track record both nationally and internationally, and we knew he was a dedicated coach and very excited," said KNVB director Bert van Oostveen, as quoted by Sky Sports.
Van Gaal himself said he was happy with this appointment. According to him, this is a challenge which he had long wait.
"I am delighted KNVB has approached me. It is a challenge that I am waiting," said Van Gaal.
