Referee Mark Clattenburg's career as Threatened
Former Premier League referee Jeff Winter, commenting on the alleged racist abuse made to the Chelsea player Mark Clattenburg during a news Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (28/10). According to Winter, the referee Clattenburg's career will be finished if convicted.
Chelsea has reportedly filed a formal lawsuit related to Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg who allegedly used inappropriate language against the two players when they lost 2-3 to Manchester United. One authorized representative of the Blues said one of the main accusations are racist language.
Controversy gets the attention of ex-referee Jeff Winter. Winter, who served for over 25 years, calling Clattenburg will no longer lead the match if found guilty, to get the word racist to black players.
"If a referee using racist words to the players, then his career would be ruined. They not be charged a penalty ban in four or eight games, but will end his career as a referee. However, that if he is proven guilty," said Winter told Radio 5 Live.
Until now, Clattenburg has not given an official statement on the matter. However, an organization that houses a professional referee, PGMO, has released a statement saying Clattenburg pledged to cooperate in the investigation. The English Football Association (FA) was also waiting for the report of the incident from the game supervisor.
