Brazuca, Name Authorized Ball 2014 World Cup
Football fans in Brazil has been named the official ball of the World Cup in 2014 under the name "Brazuca" through voting. Brazuca is a word derived from slang to refer to the people of Brazil. The word is getting 80 percent of the vote of the voting held online by one of the 2014 World Cup sponsor, Adidas.
The word has been defeated Brazuca proposed two words to choose from, namely Canavalesca which means someone who stands out in the annual carnival celebrations and Bossa Nova, samba nuanced jazz genre popular in Rio de Janeiro in the 50s and 60s.
The announcement of the name of the ball is broadcast on television with former Brazil captain Cafu as a guest star. In addition to football fans in Brazil, the Brazilian national team as well as players penggawa Real Madrid, Kaka has also given his voice through a pre-recorded video from Spain.
Naming the ball for the World Cup in Mexico in 1979 under the name Telstar. The names are quite popular in the years following the World Cup and their place among others Tango in Argentina in 1978, Azteca in Mexico in 1986 and Jabulani in South Africa in 2010.
