Benzema and Ribery Hopelessly Sex Scandal
French soccer star, Karim Benzema and Franck Ribery, called the judge over allegations of sexual harassment cases. They are accused of hiring the services of commercial sex workers (CSW) under age.
Couples who would strengthen France in a match against Uruguay on Wednesday has become the object of investigation since two years ago.
Both denied the allegations and the women involved in this case, Zahia Dehar, has said none from those who knew that he was only 16 years old. Tela investigating judge decided that they must testify in court but the date has not been established.
Judge Andre Dandot decision contrary to the recommendations in the Paris prosecutor said in November 2011 that the case should be closed because the players do not realize that Dehar still minors.
Six other people also summoned to the judge and some of them deal with the alleged pimp practice.
Under French law, paid sex with someone under the age of 18 can be punishable by imprisonment of up to three years and fined 45 000 euros (USD 525 million).
But the chapter is applicable if the defendant was aware that he had sex with someone under age. French public and the media refer to this case as a "scandal Zahia". This case came two years ago when the police investigate allegations that a nightclub in Paris to allow prostitutes to operate under. But all the allegations were from 2008 and 2009.
Sylvain Cormier attorney representing the Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema says his client is innocent and he will give an explanation before the court.
French coach Didier Deschamps joined to comment on this issue. He said everything was legal authority and has no impact on the roles of both players on the field or in the national team.
