Oops! Gazzetta Make Cartoon King Kong Balotelli

Top Italian sports daily, Gazzetta dello Sport, tripped over a cartoon that they publish. Mario Balotelli put up cartoons ala King Kong, they had to apologize.

Caricature was published in their publications Sunday edition, but only "realized" and then by a number of their readers, including the agent Mino Raiola named Balotelli, judging there is an element of racism in the picture.

Gazzetta caricatured Balotelli was riding a giant clock Big Ben is a symbol of the British capital, London. The message is that their national team's attackers have already conquered Britain, after Gli Azzurri get rid of the Three Lions in the 2012 European Cup quarter-finals on penalties.

Unfortunately, the caricature was identical to the movie King Kong. This is then linked with issues of racism, as Balotelli was the target of racism by Croatian fans as the two teams last played on June 14.

"To be honest we have said, this is not one of the best work of our great cartoonist," Gazzetta wrote in his apology, told Reuters on Wednesday (27/6/2/2012).

"If anyone is offended by this, we apologize.

"This newspaper has always fought against racism in every stadium, as well as report any monkey sounds directed at Balotelli."

Although the cartoons have been circulated and crowded gossiped about, until now there was no comment from either Arsenal or the Italian national team.

Balotelli, who had been a victim of racism while still playing at Inter Milan, before the start of the European Cup once said it would "kill" anyone who threw bananas at him in the street.

He also had threatened to immediately leave the field when the cries of racism during the match.
